Threading To Remove Facial Hair
November 5, 2011 No CommentsHaving a female moustache can be rather embarrassing. As a teen, I tried all sorts of ways to hide my dark facial hair on my upper lip. Eventually, I resorted to bleaching the hair so it wouldn’t be so obvious.
I waxed it off with a home waxing kit but ended up with red patches that stayed stuck to my skin for days.
My best bet was regular visits to the salon to remove that moustache. Yeah, I could shave like Shrek’s Fiona but stubble would be more embarrassing.
Then I stumbled upon threading at Browhaus.

Browhaus - my favourite place for grooming.
Actually there are other salons that offer threading too. You just have to hunt around for them.
Threading is basically pulling out each hair by the roots using thread. It is an Indian beauty technique which has caught on amongst the rest of the population.

As you lie on the couch, the therapist twists thread with her fingers and teeth and whirls the thread expertly to yank out the hairs cleanly right out of the roots.
The effect is cleaner than plucking as it is very thorough and picks every strand. Even the fine ones.
It takes some getting used to but you know what? I love the results.
