Payot Masque Purifiant Review

Payot facial mask for oily and sensitive skin and for acne prone skin
I bought a tube of Payot Masque Purifiant deep-cleansing astringent care to deal with my acne. Payot is one of the top french beauty brands around and is pretty pricey. Then again, I’m desperate.
Once I get these acne breakouts, they get out of control. The way big pimples are appearing on my face, around my chin and sides of my face, is getting worrisome. My usual mud mask, AHAs, BHAs and salicylic acid aren’t making much impact. Mario Badesco is proving to be too drying for my skin. I decided to splurge on Payot.
The mask goes on thick and rather dry. It is to stay on for 15 to 20 minutes. It looks and feels like a kaolin base but it contains calcium carbonate, bentonite, coffee arabica extract and magnesium carbonate as the main ingredients. It also contains salicylic acid.
I can barely smell any fragrance. It dries very quickly.
20 minutes later, the mask was dry with thin hard flakes stuck tightly on my skin. It rinsed off easily with splashes of water. My skin felt really clean after that. The pimples looked less angry. My nose which was covered with tiny whiteheads – you know, every pore is clogged type of nose, was totally clean. No more tiny white heads. It seemed to really unclog those pores and really clean the skin.
I finished that off with a Payot toner for oily skin to clean off all traces of the mask. So far so good. It doesn’t feel luxurious, but it does seem effective.
This is my first use so far, but I’ll track the progress.
