How To Choose Your Signature Perfume

A whiff of fragrance. Subtle. Sexy. Reminds him of you.
The lingering scent of vanilla may whisk one back in time..to you mom’s kitchen when she was baking cookies for you.. back to a happy childhood before the responsibilities and burdens that come with adulthood.
The tangy fragrance of orange can bring zest on a gloomy day.
Our sense of smell is linked to our emotions. Memories.
Your signature scent should be one you love. One that is really you.
A perfume is a full bouquet of scents made of 3 parts: top notes, medium notes and base notes.
Top notes are the first scents that bombard you when you spritz on a perfume. This is the first impression people would get of you scent-wise. Lemon or a sharp green note are typical top notes.
The scent evolves into something fuller – the middle notes like rose and other scents that characterize the perfume.
Base notes are what lingers on after that. Wood notes, patchouli and musk are examples of base notes. These are what give perfume that gravity — the sensuality.
When you choose your perfume, don’t buy it right after sniffing it from a tester. Spritz a little on your wrist (to see how it interacts with your skin and body chemistry) and sniff it to see if you like the top notes.
Let the scent evolve. Note how it smells an hour later. That’s when the middle notes emerge. Sniff your wrist at intervals throughout the day.
By the end of the day, the base notes linger. Do you like how the perfume smells by then?
If you love the scent throughout the day, that’s your signature perfume.
