Body Lotions
February 13, 2011 No CommentsLotions are water-based emulsions. A basic lotion is simply water with droplets of oil, held as a stable emulsion by an emulsifier.
I used to make my own lotions a long time ago in the kitchen. Through experimentation, I was able to make a smooth, rich lotion using water (or an herbal infusion), plant oils (sometimes infused with other plant essences) and soy lecithin.
These days, I just buy them off the shelf for convenience.

Moisturizing Body Lotion from Renew
For starters, if you are looking for a drugstore unscented moisturizer that’s suitable for dry, sensitive skin, try Renew. That’s what my husband who has eczema uses. It offers dry skin relief.
For eczema sufferers, go for physiogel body lotion. That’s what the doctor recommended for my husband, which he uses, to help control his eczema.

Physiogel Lotion recomended by doctors
Personally, I prefer perfumed bath and body treats. I like gorgeous scents that tantalize my senses. Personally, I love Crabtree & Evelyn.

crabtree and evelyn rosewater lotion
If you love something that would totally pamper your senses, Crabtree & Evelyn rocks. I like the rosewater body lotion. It feels wonderful when I apply it after a shower. Leaves me smelling of roses. Love it!
For a more affordable, budget-friendly alternative, I go for Marks and Spencers.. occasionally. The scents are nice, but some people with extremely sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate the body lotions.

Iris Scented Body Lotion
Finally, if you are particular about going organic, an organic lotion like this Palmer’s Organics cocoa butter body lotion is a great choice.. if you don’t mind smelling like chocolate ice cream all night long.

That’s one organic body lotion I use regularly. It leaves skin soft, smooth.. and delicious. Pamper Yourself
