7 ways to save your skin from premature wrinkles and sagging
August 22, 2010 No CommentsAs the years go by, you age. Yes, cells replicate. New cells are born to replace the old ones that die. Up to the age of 35, the new cells are just like old ones. But after that, the reproduction just isn’t as good. Telomeres in the cells shorten.
The collagen and entire structure supporting your skin degrades. Skin begins to sag. Wrinkles form.
Some people look older than their peers. Environmental factors can speed up the ageing process.
With proper care, you can still look younger than your chronical age. The earlier you start, the younger you will look over the decades as compared to others your age.
Here’s how you can delay the onset of and deepening of wrinkles.
1. Use sunblock at all times. Make sure it blocks both UVA and UVB rays.
2. Learn to relax. Take time off to destress.
3. Get at least 7 hours of sleep each night.
4. Eat 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables everyday. These are rich in antioxidants.
5. Get your omega 3 oils from salmon, olive oil or supplements.
6. Exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. Jog, brisk walk, hike, cycle, climb stairs, dance.. just move.
7. Use antiageing skincare products that are suitable for your skin type. AHAs exfoliate the skin and speed up skin renewal. Hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin. These fight wrinkles effectively.
